 Re: Vista vs W7?
I was totaly happy with windows7 for the 1 week I had it. The Heaviest is vista, than is Win7 and the fastest is XP. My computer still can't handle 7 good, so I'm back to XP. But if you change vista to win7, you will feel reborned. p.s. If some programs are not working in 7 you can run tham as Vista. Windows7 amazing options <3

 Re: Vista vs W7?
Vista was and still is a total failure from Microsoft. However they saw that and immediately built up W7. My suggestion is: If you have 1GB RAM or less - go for XP. If you have over 1GB RAM - don't hesitate and switch to W7. @SE Microsoft made a plugin for W7 so it can run any XP software and it's downloadable from their website. Anyway, the most usable programs support Windows 7 so you wont experience problems about that.

 Re: Vista vs W7?
100% WIN7! Windows Vista: Good things Design... Well... This is the end : / Downside Takes more memory to save something (it is even it's not displayed), starts up veeeeery lame, the explorer crashs cause of every shit... etc. Windows 7 Good things Windows 7 is that what Windows Vista was meant to be... Nice design, it WORKS, it's fast (starts up and to remove or change some files, not like Windows Vista that will crash the explorer -.-) etc. Downside It's new so that's like BETA (well how ever it's avalaible on the market) but they will patch & fix problems, for most of the things theres another tool (like the thing where you can start up for other OS when the program did WORK) Sorry for my bad English if you find spelling mistakes you can keep it (I am in the first year of apprenticeship for a computer scientiste)

And it's not downloadable for versions before prof, and it's already in the windows if it's later than prof. Right click on some .exe (not shortcut, the exe itselfs [to find it click properties on the shortcut and click find target]) and than from the options choose something like "Run as" (I can't remember good) There you have options (sry if I miss something): 98 2000 ME XP (with different SPs) Vista (with different SPs) I know because I played one of the first Need for Speeds that can be ran only in Windows98. And most of my programs were NOT working in Windows7 so I ran them trough XP SP3.

 Re: Vista vs W7?
go for win 7 without a doubt , Vista is like Xp without any service pack , win 7 is like Xp sp 3 ,am currently still on xp coz my old hard drive cant handle w7 and some obscure bug ( the whole My documents folder wich is used by my music soft being " read only " despit giving them rights to wright on it ,wonder if its has been corrected )
oh and aslo its insanely stable , tried it for nearly one month , i never had to reboot , no bug no weird shit

 Re: Vista vs W7?
I'm extremely happy with Win7... its looks great, has many stuff that you can put in good use(changing desk-backgroun if you cant choose the right one like me xD) the only problem i have are those fucking bluescreens all 2 days or sometimes everyday 3-4x System_Service_Exception and many Bluescreens without describing the reason directly... anyone help?

 Re: Vista vs W7?
I have been using Win 7 since last July and I am still happy with it.. Sometimes it happends that blue screen, restarts my PC dunno why it says something like "switching to minidump". Maybe because I have 32bit version even if my processor is 64bit? But still, it is nice OS...
